Grade T-Shirts?? Other Apparel??

If we came up with a design for a grade T-shirt or some other article of cloting, who would be interested? (Yeah Grade Spirit!!)

Also, if you wouldn't mind answering:
- How are we doing in communicating with you?
- What could we be doing better?
- What do we need to do to get directly to you and represent you the way we know you want to be represented?

We value your opinions, so please be constructive and not only critical in order for us to make this the greatest year for everyone!

Tee-shirts sounds great! the freshman class really needs enthusiasm and school spirit, so a class shirt is a cool way to unite us. Are we going to have a contest to get the design?

omg we did that at my middle school and the design was so rad. that would so cool. we should have freshmen t shirt day or something

Andrew...you don't even go to this school and you still check the page?
But anyways, thank you for the contribution!
So far only good things :) I think this is going in the right direction, we'll talk it over and see what we can do about a contest.

That sounds really cool! I bet that lots of people would buy a shirt like that! Even I would, and I'm probably the biggest cheapskate alive...

Nobody has made an effort to reach out to me...

i think the shirts are a good idea. but i like hoodies better =]

We definitely should have grade t-shirts! That'll be really exciting.

this has nothing to do with the t-shirts, but since i don't know how to post a new idea, i will comment it on this.

Other high schools around the city hold yearly trips to other places, such as italy, greece, spain, etc. I think it would be really cool if Stuyvesant could do this also. They could plan a week away at a foreign country during our breaks, such as winter break, February break, and spring break.

Once again, just a thought, but it would be really cool if it could happen.

t-shirts are ok but sweatshirts would be amazingly cooler

Although trips sound like a great idea, it might be extremely difficult to accomodate for however many people might want to go - considering that we have around 800 of us in our grade. I can definately bring it up though, and see what we can do about it because it could definately be a lot of fun!

And referring back to Steve Han's comment, I apologize for not seeming welcoming so far but if you would like to meet and discuss any ideas you might have (this goes for everyone else too) or even just help us out in reaching out more effectively to everyone else so that they don't feel that we forgot about them as well. Come, introduce yourself, because we would love to hear what you have to say.

Well I know that Stuy offers summer programs to countries like Spain and such. However, we could do something like (even though this is really late) a ski trip, which doesn't require us to take a plane.

Back to the T-shirt idea...Abbie's idea is stupid as usual, and I want to have a shirt that I won't be embarassed to wear in public.

so there should be like a t-shirt competition!!

where freshmen design different ideas for tshirts and submit them

then there's a winner

and they get a free tshirt

and their tshirt becomes the stuy class of 2011 freshmen tshirt!

AND NEXT YEAR

THERE WILL BE A STUY CLASS OF 11 SOPH TSHIRT

AND THEN A JUNIOR ONE

AND THEN we get senior scarves =]

hoodies sound awesome
how about those instead?

Please keep the blog a space for open sharing of opinions! Positive reinforcement is always helpful but if you have something negative to say please email Oren or Jessie and we will deal with it.
There is no need to put classmates down and ESPECIALLY in a place where everyone is supposed to feel welcome to share their opinions.
Thanks for helping to keep this blog properly functioning!

so like... announce the contest or something!!

Anonymous said...

No offense but I really have never ever seen anyone reach out, whether it be to my friends, classmates or me. You guys seem just like a figurehead.

your caucus said...

Oh I'm sorry to hear that and would definitely love to help out. Unfortunately with a grade of so many people, it is hard to specifically reach out to every student but we try to provide with the resources so that you will be able to be heard just like you did with this website. If you have something specific to say, feel free to email Oren at Oburspan@stuyhs.net or stop by the SU office (behind the senior bar) and I will probably be there after school. I'm sure Jessie is also available if you would like to speak to her and if you have any suggestions for how we can reach out more please, please tell us.

Ok, so, it looks like the seniors are already doing T-shirts....would this be like, copying their idea?
Or can we just go on and not really care, or be original in our own way. Because even if the seniors can do it (tradition, tradition, blah blah blah)it would be so cool to get our grade more "together" somehow in freshman year instead of waiting for another...6 terms?

Guys, guys, guys. people are having to delete comments!!

Daniel..my idea wasn't stupid...my idea was to get t-shirts and you just said you wanted one...so then you are saying you are stupid. So go away.

I think we should get t-shirts becasue hoodies would be more expensive.

Anonymous said...

abbie, comments are getting deleted cuz ur writing nick jonas on everything
SHUT UP
and yea hoodies are better, even if theyre, say, 5 dollars more, people will wear them much more often and will have more use for them

i love hoddies way more than tshirts

i say we just do a t-shirt . hoodies are cool but just like stop because if we do anything more than a shirt the other grades will get mad just buy a soph-frosh sing sweatshirt or something

Anonymous said...

why would the other grades get mad?

Richard said...

hmm i would suggest that a hat would not be a bad idea either, since it seems they are allowed at school anyway. But in any case a hoodie would be cool since it would be worn more. Btw the trip idea sounds fun, and my suggestion on how to organize it is by making it like a homeroom thing, or somehow group us together.

t-shirts are so....normal...shouldn't we go for something a little more appalling? more intriguing?
